The First Blacketer Family Vacation

Ok well I wouldn't really call it a vacation. Maybe a weekend getaway but more like going to a wedding a staying over night. But it was the first time Tad and I got to stay in a hotel room together. We went up to Iowa for the Von Muenster-Goode wedding. We left early Saturday morning and stopped in Galesburg and ate at Tad's favorite Mexican place from college. Then on to Cedar Rapids. We checked into the hotel then headed to the wedding.

It was very nice and of course Erin was beautiful. I took some pictures but they will probably never make it on here or even off the camera. It was nice to get to see Kristy and Rodney and Laura and Aaron (and their new baby) and of course Todd and Gretchen and the cute little flower girls commonly known as Sarah Jane and Sophia.

Sunday we got up and went to Starbucks (go figure) then had lunch and headed to the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. It was my first experience at an art museum but I loved it like I knew I would. There was a very interesting exhibit there of Cat Chow. She is mainly a fashion designer but makes her clothes not out of normal things ie fabric. There was a dress made out of one single zipper, another made of astroturf, another of sand paper. There was a jacket made out of kleenex and a $1000 dress. Literally it was made of 1000 $1 bills. Very cool. Then we went to a mall and headed home.

Tomorrow is the 4th and my mom is having a garage sale. So if anyone wants any of Hannah or Tad's old clothes come up to Mt. Pulaski and I'll give you special friends discount!

we thought about calling you to join us for breakfast Sunday morning....but decided it'd be better not to!!

So, after you've got a couple kids and we all travel to a wedding, we'll do the breakfast thing....
